THE GOOD PRODUCTS OF OUR REGION

Provence is the first organic department in France in terms of number of producers and organic surface. The region abounds in tasty products such as olives, apricots, melon, figs, various varieties of tomatoes, zucchinis, eggplants, pink garlic, nougat, picodon, lavender honey and of course the black truffle.

Françoise and Patrick have in heart to make you discover them all. They will give you the best addresses to eat and their good tips to do some shopping because no doubt you will want to take some of the flavors of the Drôme provençale back home after your stay at Pavillon M.

Black truffle

The tuber melanosporum also called black truffle or black diamond is the noblest of truffles. The rabassier, accompanied by his trained dog, flushes it out from under the truffle oaks and hazelnut trees when it is fully ripe between November and March.

Come and discover all the mysteries of the black truffle during the truffle weekends at Pavillon M :

- tasting of a special truffle menu,
- visit of the truffle market of Richerenches,
- cavage with a producer and his dog.

Details of the truffle weekend below.

The Olives

It is in Nyons and its surroundings that the black olive, "la Tanche", matures between gentle mountains, deep valleys and capricious waterways.

More than an exceptional product to be savored in various forms: oil, aperitif and tapenades, the olive of Nyons is the pride and identity of the whole region and has benefited from a PDO protected designation of origin since 1994.

Pavillon M gets its supplies from La Ferme Brès in Nyons.

Lavander

Known worldwide for its unique landscapes, lavender, this plant with its incomparable perfume and extraordinary virtues, is in full bloom in June/July in Grignan. To take lavender blue pictures, book your stay at Pavillon M ideally between mid-June and mid-July!

Lavender honey

During your stay at Pavillon M, you will have the opportunity to taste the delicious lavender honey with the delicious home-made brioche, cakes, pancakes and other home-made sweets prepared by Françoise during the gourmet breakfast.

Pavillon M gets its honey in Valréas from the beekeeper "Miel des butineuses du Haut-Comtat".

Picodon

A goat cheese made from raw milk, Picodon (from the Occitan word pichot (small) and the local dialect "pico" "which stings") has a white paste with a subtle taste of hazelnut. It is protected by a PDO since 1996.

There are two maturing methods: the classic method with a white bloomy rind or the "Dieulefit" method with a maturing period of more than 30 days.

Pavillon M is supplied by the Pracoutel Farm in Vesc and by the Cavet House in Dieulefit. It will be served at breakfast.

Nougat

The nougat of Montélimar owes its existence to the culture of the almond tree and to the breeding of bees in our region. The minimal part of honey is approximately of 20% compared to the total matter.

The proportion of dried fruit is 30%.

Pavillon M recommends you to buy your nougat from the Chaudron d'Or, an artisanal factory created in 1949 and which produces about 50 tons of nougat per year with about ten employees. The guarantee of quality !
